Wilmington's restaurant scene clusters around the Riverfront, the Trolley Square area west of downtown, and the Little Italy district. Mid-Atlantic seafood (crab cakes, soft-shell crabs in season), Italian-American cooking from the city's old immigrant neighbourhoods, and a respectable craft-beer presence are the usual notes. The city is also surprisingly strong on West African and Caribbean food, reflecting more recent waves of immigration.
