Most things worth seeing in southeast Florida are within an hour. Just south is Boca Raton with the Boca Raton Museum of Art and Mizner Park; just north, the Wakodahatchee Wetlands is a free boardwalk through reclaimed water-treatment wetlands packed with herons, ibises, alligators and turtles — one of the best birding spots in South Florida. West Palm Beach and the Norton Museum of Art are 25 minutes north; Fort Lauderdale is 30 minutes south. Miami is an hour-plus depending on I-95.
