The Curtis M. Phillips Center is Gainesville's main formal performing-arts venue. On a good night it brings in touring orchestras, dance companies, theatre, jazz, chamber music, and speakers that would otherwise skip a city this size.
It is on the University of Florida campus, so the experience is more cultural-calendar than architectural landmark. Check the programme before building an evening around it; when the booking is strong, it is one of the better things to do in Gainesville after dark.
