Libreri Mapou is the Haitian diaspora's bookshop in Miami, run by writer and activist Jan Mapou since 1986. The shelves cover Haitian literature in Kreyòl, French, and English — fiction, poetry, history, vodou studies, cookbooks — alongside music, art, and small craft items. Stop in for a conversation as much as for the books. The shop also organises readings and Kreyòl language classes and is one of the few independent Caribbean bookshops left in the country.
