Naples has a classic subtropical climate: hot, humid summers with daily afternoon thunderstorms, and warm, dry winters that are the main draw. November through April is peak season — temperatures in the low 20s°C (low 70s°F), low humidity, and almost no rain. The beaches and restaurants are busy, hotel prices peak in January and February, and snowbirds from the northeast fill the city.
May and October are shoulder months: warm, less crowded, cheaper, and the weather is still mostly pleasant before or after the summer heat peaks.
June through September is hurricane season and the depths of summer humidity. Daytime temperatures regularly exceed 33°C (90°F) with afternoon storms arriving reliably at 3pm. Many seasonal restaurants close or shorten hours. If you come in summer, budget accordingly, book hurricane-ready accommodation, and enjoy the relative quiet and lower prices.
Stone crab season runs October 15 to May 15 — the local delicacy at its best is only available in season, and the claws are served chilled with mustard sauce. It is worth timing a visit to catch it.
