Friendship Fountain

Friendship Fountain, on the Southbank Riverwalk near the Main Street Bridge, is one of the largest self-contained fountain systems in the United States — it can project water up to 18 metres in the air. Built in 1965 and renovated in 2017, it is illuminated at night and is one of the more reliably photogenic spots on the river.

The fountain sits in a small park at the western end of the Southbank Riverwalk, adjacent to the Museum of Science and History. It is a good starting point for a Southbank walk east toward San Marco, or a crossing point via the water taxi to the Northbank. Free to visit.
