Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) is in West Palm Beach, about 5 miles from the island. It receives direct flights from most major US hubs. The airport is smaller and less congested than Miami or Fort Lauderdale, which is one reason wealthy Palm Beach residents prefer it. Rental cars are available at the airport; taxis and rideshare services connect to Palm Beach directly.
By road, Palm Beach sits about 70 miles north of Miami and 30 miles north of Boca Raton. The main route is I-95 to the West Palm Beach exits, then east across one of the bridges to the island. Traffic is heavy on winter weekends. Brightline, the Florida intercity rail service, stops at West Palm Beach station; from there a taxi or rideshare takes about 10 minutes to reach Palm Beach.
