Círculo Cubano de Tampa (Cuban Club)

The grandest of Ybor's surviving mutual-aid clubs, the 1917 Cuban Club is a four-storey, terracotta-trimmed beaux-arts pile that included a theatre, ballroom, library, gymnasium, bowling alley, and clinic — all built and run cooperatively by Cuban immigrants for medical care, education, and entertainment they were not getting elsewhere. At the time the building opened it was the largest social club building in the South.

The structure has been restored and is open for tours when not in use as an event venue. The original wooden ballroom upstairs is the most striking room, with a stage that hosted touring Cuban musicians for decades.
