El Centro Español de Tampa

The Spanish Center on 7th Avenue dates from 1912 and is one of the showpiece buildings of the historic district — three storeys of red brick with a colonnaded entry, capped by a moulded cornice. After standing abandoned for years it was renovated as a hotel and event space, and the ground-floor lobby is open to the public during business hours. The original tile floors and pressed-tin ceilings have been kept.
