West Palm Beach is well placed for half- and full-day excursions. Palm Beach, with the Flagler Museum (Whitehall) and Worth Avenue, is across the bridge — a different world but a five-minute drive. The Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge fifteen minutes west has boardwalks into untouched Everglades sawgrass. Jupiter, half an hour north, has the picturesque red-brick Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse. The Everglades begin within an hour's drive west.
