There is essentially one reason to come to Andersonville: the National Historic Site that preserves the grounds of the Confederate prison camp and the National Cemetery. The site is sobering, well-interpreted, and worth at least half a day. The small village beside it has a Civil War village museum and a few period buildings, but the main draw is the park itself.
