Lower Broad Street Bar Scene

The stretch of Broad Street between Sixth and Tenth streets is Augusta's main bar district, a compact run of venues that ranges from sports bars and pool halls to live music rooms and craft beer spots. The scene is unpretentious and genuinely local — this is where Augusta goes to drink, not somewhere curated for visitors.

Soul Bar is the standout for live music, with a strong local following and regular performances across funk, blues, and Southern rock. Somewhere in Augusta is a slightly more refined craft beer spot a block off Broad with a rotating tap list. Several other bars fill in the gaps and are perfectly serviceable.

The area is safe and walkable at night. During Masters week it becomes extremely crowded and prices at every establishment temporarily spike; the rest of the year it's relaxed. Parking along Broad Street or in the nearby garages is straightforward.
