Frog Hollow Tavern is Augusta's most acclaimed restaurant, serving refined Southern cuisine in a handsome space on Washington Road. The kitchen takes seasonal, locally sourced ingredients seriously — the menu changes to reflect what's available — and applies French technique to distinctly Southern flavours. Shrimp and grits, pan-roasted pork from local farms, and pecan-crusted fish are the kind of dishes that appear regularly.
The dining room is warm and unhurried, the wine list is well chosen, and the service is genuinely attentive without being fussy. Reservations are strongly recommended on weekends and essentially mandatory during Masters week, when the restaurant books out weeks in advance. Dinner only, Tuesday through Saturday. The price point is moderate to expensive by Augusta standards, reasonable by any other.
