Sam Jones Methodist Church

A handsome late-19th-century brick church named for the celebrated Methodist revivalist preacher Samuel P. Jones, who lived in Cartersville and used the town as a base for his nationwide preaching tours in the 1880s and 1890s. Jones was a friend of the Nashville businessman Tom Ryman and was the cause of Ryman building the Nashville auditorium — now the Ryman, the original Grand Ole Opry — that bears his name.
