Cinnamon's is the famous breakfast spot of Kailua, tucked behind a small strip mall on Kailua Road. The signature dishes are the red velvet pancakes and the guava chiffon pancakes — neither subtle, both enormous, and both responsible for waits of an hour or more on weekends. Eggs Benedict come in half a dozen variations.
Service is friendly and unhurried in a way that suits the town. Coffee is good and bottomless. Come early on weekdays if you want to walk in. The dinner menu is a different operation and considerably less interesting; this is breakfast and lunch country.
