Over Easy is the other essential Kailua breakfast spot — small, bright, with a focus on local ingredients and a tighter, less retail-spectacle menu than Cinnamon's down the road. The signature dishes are the bird-in-the-nest (sourdough wrapped around an egg with bacon and arugula), excellent shakshuka, and house-baked biscuits.
Coffee is from a local roaster and the eggs come from Oahu farms. The dining room seats maybe 20; takeaway is faster, but the small back patio is the nicest place to eat. Cash-only used to be the rule; check current policy.
