Kahului Airport (OGG) on the north coast of Maui is the island's main gateway. Direct flights connect it to several mainland US cities — Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Denver, and Phoenix year-round, with more routes added in peak season. Most East Coast travellers connect through Honolulu (a 30-minute inter-island hop) or a West Coast hub.
Inter-island flights from Honolulu with Hawaiian Airlines and Mokulele Airlines run frequently. There is no passenger ferry service connecting Maui to the other islands; all inter-island travel is by air.
