Big Idaho Potato Hotel

The Big Idaho Potato Hotel is exactly what it sounds like: a 6-ton fiberglass potato, big enough to sleep two people, parked on a working farm south of Boise. It was originally built by the Idaho Potato Commission as a rolling promotional exhibit and driven across 48 states before being converted into a short-term rental.

The interior is fitted with a proper bed, bathroom, and small kitchen. Guests report the experience as genuinely comfortable and completely absurd in the best possible way. It books up far in advance, particularly in summer. Located in the farm town of Boise (technically), though the address and access are given at booking.

A story
The Idaho Potato Commission built a giant fiberglass potato as a promotional stunt in 2012, driving it around the country on a flatbed truck for two years. When the tour ended, rather than scrap it, they converted the 6-ton potato into a short-term rental property on a farm south of Boise. It sleeps two and has a bathroom installed inside the potato shell.
