Beall–Dawson House

The Beall–Dawson House is a Federal-style mansion built around 1815, one of the best-preserved early 19th-century homes in Montgomery County. It serves as the headquarters of the Montgomery County Historical Society and contains period furnishings, decorative arts, and rotating exhibits on the county's history.

Adjacent to the house is the Stonestreet Museum of 19th Century Medicine, a preserved doctor's office with original instruments and medical equipment from the 1850s — an odd and worthwhile stop for anyone interested in the history of medicine. The site is free to visit on weekends, when tours are typically available.
