Ennis punches well above its weight in food terms, mostly because the fishing trade keeps a handful of decent kitchens going year-round. Steaks, burgers, trout and Mexican are all good; the standard Western breakfast (eggs, hash browns, biscuits and gravy) is honoured at several spots. Expect to pay city prices for steak — this is a destination town now — and small-town prices for everything else.
