The Kearney County Courthouse in the centre of Minden is a handsome brick building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in a restrained Neoclassical style typical of Nebraska county courthouses from the early 20th century, it anchors the small downtown square with the W.T. Thorne Building across the street.
Minden's compact downtown retains much of its original commercial architecture from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and a brief walk around the square gives a good sense of a prosperous small Nebraska town at its peak. The courthouse is still in active use.
