Things to Do

Minden's singular attraction is Harold Warp's Pioneer Village — one of the most remarkable private collections of Americana in the United States, and a legitimate reason to exit the interstate. The village takes the better part of a full day to explore properly, and it is the reason virtually all visitors come to Minden.

The town itself has a modest historic downtown with the Kearney County Courthouse and the historic W.T. Thorne Building on the main square, worth a brief walk. The nearby Germantown Colony site is of interest to those curious about the history of religious utopian communities on the Great Plains.
