Bootleg Canyon is one of the best-regarded mountain biking destinations in the southwest, with over 35 miles of marked trails carved into the volcanic rock just north of Boulder City. The terrain is steep, exposed, and rocky — graded mostly intermediate to expert, with the most famous trails (Boyscout, Mother, Reaper) requiring real technical skill and committing drop-offs.
The park also has the Flightlinez zipline tour, which strings six lines across the canyon and reaches speeds around 60 mph. Bike rentals and shuttles are available in town from All Mountain Cyclery. The trails are best ridden October through April; summer afternoons are dangerously hot.
