Reno has a solid coffee culture alongside its bar scene. For espresso, try Fog Lifter Caffe or Java Jungle downtown on West 1st Street, or Espresso Country on East Plumb Lane. The Blue Lamp is a good spot for live bands and DJs -- probably the closest thing to non-casino nightlife in Reno, though watch out for cover charges midweek. For old-school Reno character, the 5 Star Saloon and Ole Tyme Saloon are worth a look.
