Driving is the best way to see Albuquerque -- the city is sprawling and public transit is limited. The ART bus rapid transit line runs along Central Avenue and connects Old Town, downtown, UNM, and Nob Hill. If you are heading into the backcountry around the city, drive an appropriate vehicle and carry water, a charged phone, and maps. Many back roads are unpaved and unsigned.
