Tucumcari Railroad Museum

The railroad museum occupies the restored Tucumcari Union Station, the 1926 Mission-style depot that once served the Rock Island, Southern Pacific, and Chicago Rock Island lines. Inside is a small but well-curated collection of railroad memorabilia — uniforms, signage, dispatcher equipment, and photographs from the era when Tucumcari was a major division point.

The Amtrak Southwest Chief still stops here daily, though only briefly. The building itself, with its red-tiled roof and stuccoed walls, is one of the prettier survivals in town.
