The Orange Peel is the city's main mid-size music venue, a 1,050-capacity room a few blocks south of Pack Square on Biltmore Avenue. It books an unusual mix — indie rock, soul, country, hip hop, jam bands — and Rolling Stone once ranked it among the top five rock clubs in America.
The room is unusual for a venue this size: a flat dance floor and a small balcony, both with very good sightlines. The PA is good and the staff competent. Tickets sell out fast for bigger names, so look ahead.
