Woolworth Walk

Downtown Asheville art-and-craft gallery in a former Woolworth's, with a restored old soda fountain.

Woolworth Walk fills a former F. W. Woolworth building on Haywood Street with work by Asheville-area artists and craft makers. It is part gallery, part browseable craft emporium: pottery, jewellery, prints, textiles, glass, woodwork, and small pieces that are easier to pack than most things you will see in the River Arts District.

The restored soda fountain gives the place a second reason to stop, especially if you are walking downtown between Grove Arcade, Pack Square, and the smaller galleries. It is commercial, but it is also rooted in Asheville's local art scene and makes a good low-pressure introduction before committing to a longer craft or studio crawl.
