Wortham Center for the Performing Arts

The Wortham Center is Asheville's main mid-size performing arts venue, a 500-seat theatre on Pack Square inside the Pack Place cultural complex. It opened in 1992 and reopened after a renovation in 2019. The programme runs through the year and mixes touring dance and theatre with chamber music, jazz, and the city's own Asheville Symphony chamber series.

The auditorium is a steeply raked single tier with very good acoustics; almost every seat feels close to the stage. Tickets are usually easy to find a week in advance.
