Eating Out

Ocracoke's restaurant scene punches well above its size. The island has a handful of places that would hold their own anywhere, most of them built around the local seafood haul — flounder, blue crab, clams, and shrimp pulled from Pamlico Sound. Reservations are a good idea in summer; the better spots fill up fast on a small island with limited competition.
