Eating Out

Medora's restaurants are largely seasonal and lean hard into the Western theme. Pitchfork Fondue at the Tjaden Terrace before the Medora Musical is the signature meal: steaks loaded onto a pitchfork and lowered into a vat of hot oil, with sides and a view across the badlands. Theodore's Dining Room at the Rough Riders Hotel serves bison meatloaf and walleye in a more formal setting.

Boots Bar and Grill on Pacific Avenue is the locals' choice — burgers, beer, and a wood-fired patio open into the evening. For coffee and a quick breakfast, Cowboy Café on Main Street opens early. Most places shut by October and reopen in May.
