Medora sits directly on Interstate 94 about 140 km (90 miles) west of Bismarck and 35 km (22 miles) east of the Montana border. Almost everyone arrives by car — the highway runs the length of the state and Medora is exit 27.
The nearest commercial airports are Dickinson Theodore Roosevelt Regional, 35 miles east, with limited flights, and Bismarck Municipal, which has more regular connections to Minneapolis, Denver, and other regional hubs. There is no Amtrak service in this part of the state. Once in Medora itself, everything is walkable.
