African Safari Wildlife Park is a drive-through animal park outside Port Clinton, close to the Lake Erie shore. It is a family-oriented stop rather than a wilderness experience, but it has enough novelty to justify a visit if you are travelling with children or building a relaxed day around the lake.
The park is best treated as part of the Port Clinton and Sandusky leisure circuit: ferries, beaches, amusement parks, and roadside attractions. Check seasonal opening before going, since northern Ohio weather shapes the visitor calendar.
