Ardmore sits directly on I-35, the main north–south corridor between Oklahoma City (roughly 100 miles north) and Dallas/Fort Worth (about 115 miles south). Driving is the most practical option for most visitors — the city is easily reached in under two hours from either metro area.
Amtrak's Heartland Flyer connects Ardmore to both Oklahoma City and Fort Worth once daily in each direction. The train station is centrally located downtown on Ardmore Avenue. Journey times are approximately 1 hour 45 minutes to Oklahoma City and 2 hours 30 minutes to Fort Worth. This is one of the few Amtrak routes in Oklahoma and a pleasant alternative to the highway if your schedule allows. The nearest commercial airport with regular service is Dallas/Fort Worth International (DFW), about two hours south, though Oklahoma City's Will Rogers World Airport is also a reasonable option for those approaching from the north.
