Almost everything that draws visitors to Fairfax is actually within a short drive: the larger Osage town of Pawhuska (25 miles east, with the Osage Nation Museum, the Pioneer Woman Mercantile and the gateway to the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve), and Ponca City (45 miles north-west, with the Pioneer Woman Museum and the Marland Mansion).
