The Ashmore Valero on the east side of town is, on paper, a perfectly ordinary convenience store with pumps out front and rolling racks of motor oil inside. The reason to stop is the small wooden runabout displayed in the middle of the floor, which once belonged to Errol Flynn.
There is no admission charge, no ticket booth, no plaque trumpeting it as a tourist attraction. You walk in, fill up, and there is the boat. It is exactly the kind of small American oddity that makes a drive across Oklahoma worthwhile.
