Most of McAlester's sights cluster in the old downtown grid: a stately federal building, several Masonic landmarks left from the city's strong fraternal tradition, and the eleven-story Aldridge Hotel that still dominates the skyline. Out on the edge of town, a working gas station houses one of the stranger roadside curios in the state.
