The five-block commercial district immediately north of the OU campus, organised around the intersection of Boyd and Asp. Campus Corner has been the bookshop-and-burger heart of student life in Norman since the 1920s, and despite some chain-store creep it still has the right ratio of unique to corporate: a vintage bookshop, a long-running coffee roastery, a record store, a couple of independent boutiques, several pizza-and-beer joints, and the Crimson and Cream Sooners merchandise store for visiting fans.
The historic brick storefronts are individually listed, and the district turns into a tailgating zone on football Saturdays. Out of season, late afternoon is the right time — a slow drift from the Crimson House café through to dinner at one of the Asp Avenue restaurants.
