Factory Obscura Mix-Tape

A 6,000-square-foot immersive art experience in a converted warehouse just north of downtown, built by the Oklahoma City artists' collective Factory Obscura. The installation is a single continuous space divided into eleven interconnected rooms — a dance club inside a giant aquarium, a forest of glowing crystal trees, a room of falling glitter, a tunnel of mirrors — designed to be walked through slowly and touched as you go.

The work changes every few months as the collective rotates installations. Allow an hour. Tickets around $24. Visitors over fourteen will get more out of it than younger children; the experience is sensory rather than narrative.

A story
The collective behind Factory Obscura grew out of the Womb — a psychedelic art space founded by Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne — and the Mix-Tape installation directly references the music that has shaped Oklahoma City's arts scene. Multiple rooms include hidden Flaming Lips references for visitors who know to look.
