Sapulpa sits at the intersection of I-44 (the Turner Turnpike) and US-66/SH-66, about 15 miles southwest of downtown Tulsa. The Tulsa International Airport (TUL) is the closest commercial airport, 25 minutes by car. There is no passenger rail and no scheduled bus service into Sapulpa itself, though Greyhound stops in Tulsa.
For Route 66 travellers, the original alignment runs straight through downtown Sapulpa from northeast to southwest — there are signs marking the historic route. This is the obvious lunch or fuel stop on a Tulsa-to-Oklahoma-City Route 66 drive.
