Astoria Riverfront Trolley

The Astoria Riverfront Trolley is a restored 1913 streetcar that runs about 5km along the Columbia River waterfront on former freight railroad tracks. It operates from May through September on weekends and some weekdays, running between the 17th Street Dock and the East Mooring Basin. The fare is a dollar each way.

The trolley is a genuine heritage streetcar, not a tourist replica. It gives the best views of the Columbia and the working waterfront, passing the Maritime Museum, the piers, and the boat basin. The Astoria-Megler Bridge — crossing to Washington at 6.8km, one of the longest continuous truss bridges in the United States — is visible from the eastern end of the route. A good way to orient yourself on arrival or to see the waterfront without a car.
