Easton is at its best in late spring and early fall. May to early June has clear days, the canal boat is back in operation, and the riverside is at peak green. October brings the foliage along the Delaware and Lehigh valleys — the towpath walks at Hugh Moore Park and the views from College Hill at Lafayette are at their best.
Summer is humid but pleasant; the Heritage Day celebrations on the Sunday closest to 8 July recreate the 1776 reading of the Declaration on Centre Square. Easton Out Loud (third Friday of each month) draws crowds for late-night gallery openings and music.
December is a clear local high point: the Peace Candle goes up over Centre Square for the holiday season, and the surrounding shops stay open late through the Easton Heritage Holiday Parade.
