Warner Theatre

The Warner Theatre is a lavishly decorated 2,500-seat venue built in 1931 in a blend of Art Deco and French Renaissance styles. It is one of the finest surviving examples of a grand movie palace in western Pennsylvania — a building that was meant to make ordinary people feel, for the price of a ticket, like they were entering a palace.

The interior is exceptionally ornate, with gilded ceilings, painted murals, and original decorative plasterwork that survived intact through several decades of decline before a major restoration. Today the Warner operates as a performing arts venue hosting Broadway touring shows, classical music, comedy, and concerts. The box office is on State Street in downtown Erie.
