Johnstown's dining scene is unpretentious and reflects its working-class heritage. The area has a strong tradition of pierogies, kielbasa, and other Central European foods brought by immigrant steel workers, alongside classic American diners and family restaurants. Downtown has seen some new life in recent years, with a handful of independent spots joining the old standbys.
