The Horse Inn occupies a former livery stable on East Fulton Street, half a mile east of Penn Square. The dining room is on the second floor under exposed wooden beams; the food is contemporary American with a strong cocktail program. The kitchen is generous with pickled, smoked, and house-cured elements.
The place is loud and busy on weekends; weeknights are calmer. Cocktails are particularly good — try whatever the bartender suggests with whiskey.
