Lancaster County Courthouse

The Lancaster County Courthouse, a block east of Penn Square on East King Street, is a stately Greek Revival building dating to 1854. The portico of six Corinthian columns and the broad steps facing the street give the structure the look of a small federal building dropped into a Pennsylvania downtown.

It still functions as the working county courthouse. Visitors can enter through security and look at the marble-floored rotunda; murals on the upper walls depict scenes from local history. The exterior is the best view, especially in late afternoon light.
