North Prince Street Arts District

The blocks of North Prince Street, running north from the Fulton Theatre, are the centre of Lancaster's contemporary arts scene. Galleries, performance spaces, and design studios occupy a row of 19th-century commercial buildings. The Pennsylvania College of Art and Design anchors one end of the strip.

The most active time to visit is First Friday, the monthly evening when galleries open new shows and the sidewalks fill with locals; otherwise come during the day, look at a few exhibitions, and have a coffee at one of the small cafes tucked between the storefronts.
