When to Go

Lititz is good year-round but at its best on summer evenings and around the Fourth of July, when the candle ceremony and small-town fireworks draw crowds from across the region. Book accommodation well ahead for that week.

Spring and autumn are the most pleasant for walking the historic district — warm enough to sit out, cool enough that the streets are not crowded. December brings the Lititz Fire & Ice Festival (carved ice sculptures and outdoor fires along Main Street) and a properly traditional Moravian Christmas service.

Winters are cold and quiet but not severe. Summers are warm and humid in the Lancaster way (highs around 30 °C).
