First Baptist Church in America is one of Providence's key historic landmarks. The congregation dates to 1638, and the present meeting house on College Hill was built in 1775.
The church is a natural stop on a College Hill walk, close to the RISD Museum, Providence Athenaeum, Brown University, and the streets tied to Roger Williams and early Rhode Island religious history.
