Apponaug is Warwick's old civic village, set around Apponaug Cove and the road junctions that still shape traffic through the city. It has a few historic buildings, the city hall area, and the slightly awkward charm of a New England centre absorbed into suburbia.
It is worth a short look if you are interested in how Rhode Island towns grew around mills, coves, and turnpikes. Do not make a special long detour for it, but do not dismiss it as just another intersection either.
